I HIGHLY recommend you to make your way over to Emory and check this out. I even got to meet Dr Pecou! You need to experience the sheer scale, the gold foil, the fine details. Go feel the emotion. GO!! Here is one of my favorites, it almost took my breath away when I came around the corner and saw it. “Eleri nla”, 2018, acrylic and spray paint on indigo dyed canvas. #fahamupecou #doordieI love that I’m seeing artists I follow tackle the #10yearchallenge from the other side of the canvas, so I had to play too! Here is an animal painting from 10 (or maybe 12?) years ago, and a pet portrait I painted last month. I’m ashamed to say I stopped painting for a few years in the middle of this - maybe around 2010-12ish - and I have to wonder how much more would I have learned if I hadn’t tried to be a “regular, professional adult” while working at the bank. But I do know I still love to paint animals! I’m so thankful to my friends that commission pet portraits and @zooatl for hosting Art Gone Wild every year!
