Momocon 2017
I had a blast at Momocon this year! It was my 4 year old’s first convention, and we cosplayed together. I was a Ghostbuster, and she was Janine. I think we will make Momocon a tradition. Here are a few pics – you can see more on my facebook page!
Strut the Hooch Parade
I wore my Ecto-1 in the 3rd Annual Strut the Hooch Parade on Saturday! It was fun to get to wear this costume that has been put away since Dragon Con!
Thanks to the Ledger Enquirer and Grace and Charm Photography for these great shots!
Dragon Con is Coming!
Here is my lineup, I thought it would be fun to do a “before and after, so I will take some pictures and remake this next week!
I am not 100% sure on days/times yet, but tentatively I am looking at Steampunk Bell Thursday day and changing into my Marriott Picasso dress for Revenge of the Carpet and Nerdy New Year Thursday night. Friday I will be Queen of Hearts all day, and maybe change to Princess Vader that night if I need a corset break. Saturday morning I will be back in the Marriot Picasso dress for the parade and photo shoot, and then spend the evening in the Ecto-1. Sunday I will be in the Memorial TARDIS. I will probably not do any costumes on Monday, but if I do it will be something super comfy. Maybe I will bring Red from OUAT as a back up.
I am almost packed, I just need to sew a clasp onto the TARDIS gown, finish installing the shelf on my Ecto-1 for the music, and make a repair to Belle’s sleeve. I wanted to do a makeup costest for the Queen, but maybe I will just wing it.
I can’t wait to see all of the amazing costumes and events and surprises Dragon Con has in store for 2016!
Ghostbuster’s Ecto-1 Build
There was a special party here in Atlanta for the Ghostbusters before the new movie came out (BTW don’t believe the haters, that movie was awesomely hilarious!) and so, of course, even though Dragon Con was looming, I decided to build another costume. And escalate it. Because why not?
What initially was going to be a quick and funny cardboard build (like my DeLorean last October) became a really awesome wooden car with working lights! Okay, okay. They were glow sticks. But still! It lit up!
But wait, there’s more! I actually won Best 80’s Costume in the contest!
Now back to my regularly scheduled Dragon Con panic. I will definitely be bringing the Ecto-1 out for a spin there as well.
