Pet Portrait Info

Since paintings of pets have become my most popular commission, I have compiled information about requesting your very own pet portrait all in one place for you! Please read the information below. If you have additional questions, you may contact me here.

How much does a portrait cost?

The cost of a pet portrait is dependent on size and content. For a point of reference, an 8×10 of a single animal is $100, and an 11×14 painting of single pet is $150 (these are the two post popular sizes). We will discuss your project and finalize the cost before starting.

I collect a $25 deposit at the time of booking, and the remainder (plus shipping, if relevant) at completion.

Domestic shipping for a single 11×14 or smaller canvas is $10. For larger or multiple paintings, I will get a price once I mail it. In the Atlanta area, I am happy to coordinate a meetup if possible!

How long does a portrait take?

In general, it takes me 2-3 weeks to complete a painting, but the time can vary depending on workload. Holidays can result in a higher volume. If you have a specific date in mind, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your goals. At the time of booking, I will give you an estimated date of completion.

I will keep in touch throughout the process and will send progress photos as I work. I am very active on social media as well, so if your painting is a gift you want kept secret please let me know so I don’t post until after you have gifted the painting.

What is needed to request a portrait?

When you book a portrait, I will need at least one well lit, clear photo of your pet. Please try to send original, filter free photos so I can get your pet’s color just right! Sending a few extra pictures can be helpful for tricky lighting situations.

I will also need to know what color background you want. Sometimes people choose based on favorite colors, matching decor in the home, or pet personality. I am happy to help you choose a color if you’re undecided!
